Making Combat Classes: The Inspector

Hey!

Just a quick update on those combat classes, it's going well, but I would like to talk about one of them in particular: The Inspector.

Now, the other four classes (Bouncer, Mercenary, Street Mage, and Minstrel, who's names are still up to change by the way) fit into predefined notions of character classes: big, fast, ranged, and support. So of course it was a little hard to figure out what the last one did. I knew I wanted it to be something similar to the vibe of like, say Kingston Brown from Dimension 20: The Unsleeping City. The old, wise man of the battlefield, wielding magic that seems a little less science-like.

So I looked at TTRPGs I played before, and found the ol' 5e Divination Wizard. The whole thing about Divination was that you could replace rolls that you saw with rolls that you had made in advance. Pretty cool, but a shame you could only use the thing twice per long rest. But still, I couldn't just give the guy infinite rolls. That would be insane. So I just made it so that instead of replacing, you swapped.

If a thug rolls a 15 and I, the Inspector, use my Prophecy gimmick to replace the roll with a 7, the Thug gets a 7 and my Prophecy becomes a 15.

Pretty cool! But let's add a little more control into it. You can pick the Bend Luck option to add or subtract 1 to your Prophecy. So if I have a 7, I can subtract 1 to make it a 6.

The update will be coming out... I'll say soon for now. I just have to make a couple more things make sense and then I'll release. See you guys then.
